
Soul Trak Service Week in Virgin Islands National Park

Soul Trak will be hosting its annual Soul Trak Leader Service Week this year in the US Virgin Islands. Virgin Islands National Park, occupying 60% of the island of St. John and thousands of acres of coral reef and underwater habitat, provides protection for tropical and migrating birds, fish, corals, marine life, and 800 species of plants, many of which are unique to the islands. The park also preserves and teaches the history of enslaved peoples on sugar plantations, as well as indigenous people who lived on the islands. Volunteers contribute to the preservation and protection of this precious ecosystem and important cultural history, while also enjoying the parks beautiful beaches and marine life.
The week will consist of exciting activities and workshops led by both Soul Trak staff and program partners. This is a great opportunity to deepen our bonding experience as a network of outdoor leaders, further our learning around leadership and diversity, and continue to engage in outdoor recreational activities that promote teamwork, skill building, and expand our tolerance for adversity. This program will be made available for the Environmental Leadership Cohort, College Ambassador Cohort, Soul Trak Volunteers and Soul Trak Members.
We are partnering with the Friends of Virgin Islands National Park and will be part of their volunteer Trail Crew. The Virgin Islands National Park is on the Island of St. John.

Itinerary:
Service Days: 8:30-2:30 pm
Sunday March 2: Arrival
Mon-Tues: Service days
Wednesday: Recreation/off day
Thur-Fri: Service days
Saturday: Recreation/off day (Group excursion possible)
Sunday March 9: Departure
Registration fee: $250
Soul Trak Members and Leaders: $125
All programs, equipment, and lodging will be covered by the registration fee. This payment will secure your spot in the service week program. Costs that are not included (participants will need to cover) include airfare, ground transportation, day off excursions, and food for the week. Deposits/cancellations for this program are non-refundable under any circumstance.
All registrants will be required to fill out the Soul Trak Overnight Form and agreement, which will be distributed once registration is confirmed.
Participants are responsible for booking their own airfare to and from St. Thomas (STT). Flights must arrive by 12p Noon on March 2, and depart no earlier than 3p on March 9.
