Soul Trak Community Hikes

Fort Circle Trail
Saturday March 15, 2025 from 10-1pm

Meeting Place:  Anacostia Community Museum, 1901 Fort Pl SE, Washington, DC 20020

Join us for a Soul Trak Community Hike! Starting and ending at the museum, we will do an out-and-back hike on the historic Fort Circle Trail. Our halfway point will be the Francis A. Gregory Library, where there are restrooms, and then we will return on the same trail to the Anacostia Community Museum. Along the way, Soul Trak leaders will conduct a lesson in Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics.

The 5-mile out and back is a good beginner/easy hiking route. This is a popular trail for hiking, mountain biking, and running. There may be dogs on trail.

What to bring:

We suggest bringing a light day pack in which you can carry water, snacks, and layers.

  • plenty of water
  • snacks
  • dress in layers: be prepared to get warm while hiking but you can quickly cool down when not moving.
  • Proper hiking footwear: hiking shoes/boots, sneakers or running shoes.

Note that all hiking tours are weather dependent and will proceed in light rain but may need to cancel if there is heavy rain, lightning, or strong wind in the forecast.
