First Annual Soul Trak Film Festival

January 11, 2025
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Patagonia Old Town

815 1/2 King St. Alexandria, VA

Soul Trak is excited to invite you to a special evening showcasing films that inspire us and speak to our mission of environmental sustainability, advocacy, and empowering people of color to explore and connect with outdoor spaces. This event will showcase films that highlight stories of beauty in nature and the importance of preserving our planet while also celebrating diverse voices in outdoor spaces.

We hope you can join us for a night of film, community, and fun as we come together to learn, reflect, and be inspired by stories of environmental stewardship and inclusivity. We will provide snacks and cozy beverages!

People Rising: Ivy City

People Rising: Ivy City chronicles the active fight to close National Engineering Products (NEP), a chemical facility that has polluted the air with the smell of formaldehyde and burning tar since the 1930s.

Wood Hood

Wood Hood is a 2022 short documentary film that follows a 15-year-old New York City skateboarder who goes on a weekend camping trip with a mentorship program.

Becoming Ruby

A film about inclusion, identity and hand-drawn heroes. If you can’t find a hero, create your own; for mountain biker, skier and artist Brooklyn Bell, that hand-drawn hero was a comic character named Ruby J. Using Ruby as a role model, Brooklyn set out to “live like her, breathe like her, be unapologetically black like her,” finding her own identity in a mix of dirt, snow, art and inclusion.

Grounded: Black Canary

Grounded: Black Canary is a short documentary that explores the Black Canary 030 collective in Berlin and their work to reclaim nature for the city's BIPOC and FLINTA population.
