The Soul Trak College Ambassador Cohort is hosting an event to encourage Howard University and Howard Community College students to explore nature through recreational activities on Georgetown’s Waterfront. Join us for a fun, relaxing afternoon of kayaking and paddling on the Potomac River.

Additionally, gathering over a meal outside has been a way for people of color to connect with the outdoors. We hope you will join us in encouraging students to connect with nature and foster relationships with one another.

This event is sponsored by Teva. Students who register before April 16th will receive a free pair of Teva Hydratek Sandals! Make sure to put your shoe size in during registration. Shoes will be distributed on Howard Campus on Fri 4/19. Please wear them to the event on Sunday!

Schedule:

12:00 Students arrive

12:15 Soul Trak Circle: Introduction of the College Ambassador Cohort, Safety briefing, sponsor acknowledgement

12:30 Get people outfitted in life jackets, assign to kayaks

12:30-2:30 Kayaking Time

1:00 Food ready (sandwich bar) - students complete survey in order to get a food ticket

3:00 Close out circle: Reflect on the day, encourage students to join the Fall CAC and be involved with Soul Trak events!
